In celebration of Westford Academy’s 225th anniversary, the high school’s Board of Trustees together with the Westford Historical Society and Museum, will be conducting a tour of all four buildings that have housed Westford Academy since 1794. The tour takes place on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 12 to 4 p.m.

Westford Academy Board of Trustees President and 1966 WA graduate, Geoff Hall, will begin the tour at noon at the present day Westford Academy, 30 Patten Road, Westford. The building has been home to the high school since 1973.

At 1 p.m. “Paul Revere” will be in the Bell Lobby to explain why he cast the first Westford Academy bell. The tour continues by bus to the Abbot School, where participants will be greeted by the Westford Academy band, before touring the building that housed WA from 1955 – 1973.

The bus will then proceed to the Roudenbush Community Center where the tour continues on the third floor to illustrate how student athletes played basketball there in the early part of the 20th century. The Roudenbush was home to the Academy from 1897 – 1955.

The tour will wrap up at the Westford Museum where attendees will get a look at many parts of Westford’s history. The museum housed the original Westford Academy from 1794 – 1897.
