Health Director Jeffrey Stephens and Public Health Nurse Gail Johnson discuss with host Joyce Pellino Crane what to do to avoid getting the flu this season.
After listing off the multiple number of flu clinics Johnson organized this fall, Stephens calculated how many people she vaccinated.
“As far as our main flu clinics, Super Gail is definitely done…She’s vaccinated probably in the neighborhood of 1,300 people. It’s been a really really good turnout for the clinics.”
Johnson praised the volunteers of the Merrimack Valley Medical Reserve Corps who helped run the clinics.
Johnson said it’s important for viewers to wash their hands and to avoid putting hands near the mouth or nose.
“Limit the amount of time you’re with someone who has the flu,” said Johnson.
“The flu is preventable,” Stephens added.
